So I’m assuming some PC login issues have been fixed, but in doing that I believe they’ve somehow broken Xbox’s ability to even connect to online services. Been trying to get on for over half an hour and it’s not having it at all. Anyone else getting this issue? It seems to just be Xbox One, im not sure about Series X/S.
I’ve seen a couple other people post this but upon launching Cold War on any Xbox system, the game will try to connect to online services but just give you error code “Collar 43 Good Wolf”. Warzone and MW are playable but Cold War is completely unplayable. Really sucks that this billion dollar company has a fatal error like this every single update without fail.

Activision has released the direct sequel to the original “Call of Duty: Black Ops”, aptly named the Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War. The new title lets you come face-to-face with popular figures from the ’80s and lets you fight your battles at prominent locations around the world including Vietnam, Soviet KGB headquarters, East Berlin, Turkey, and more.
Like all Call of Duty multiplayers titles and the last installment in the franchise, Black Ops Cold War is also riddled with errors, but a majority of the problems with the game appear to be client side issues with effective solitons. However, there are also solutions that point to the possibility of problems with the game. You can also attempt to play the game using your mobile internet via hotspot, given you have a reliable and fast internet on your phone network.
- Press Windows Key + I and select Network & Internet
- Click on Change adapter options
- Right-click on your connection and select Properties
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties
- Toggle Use the following DNS server addresses and enter primary as 8.8.8.8 and secondary as 8.8.4.4
- Save the changes.
The above solutions have been very effective in resolving the error. But, if you have a better solution let us know in comments.

Get ready to dive into the next evolution of Black Ops Multiplayer, a Campaign entrenched in Cold War conspiracy, and brand new Zombies Experiences.
The error appears right after you launch Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on your PC when the game shows the message “connection connecting to call of duty services screen”. After you wait for the game to get connected to its servers, you will either be greeted with the “Yorker 43 Good Wolf” error or be directed to the game’s loading screen.
Even if you’re able to skip the error message, the loading screen will keep you waiting and eventually tell you that the connection to the servers got timed out.
As it turns out, this error message which is now appearing in large numbers for the public version of the game on PC was widely reported in the beta version that rolled out earlier this year.

Can You Fix Black Ops Cold War Error Code Collar 43 Good Wolf
As stated earlier, the Black Ops Cold War error code Collar 43 Good Wolf means that the servers are under maintenance or there is something wrong on the server-side. The error message confirms this, “server is not available at this time.” The error message will appear when you attempt to play the online mode of the game when there is a planned maintenance; however, it can also occur when the servers are encountering unexpected glitch due to excessive players overburdening the servers or some other reason.

Fortunately, it does not take long for the servers to come back online and you should be able to play the game again in a few hours. We suggest you enjoy the Campaign until the servers return to normalcy.
We know this is not the solution you might be hoping when reading this post, but there is little you can do when the problem is at the server-end, but the good news is your system and network connection is fine and you should be able to play the game without any issues when the server comes back online.
Although it’s rare with the Black Ops Cold War Error Code Collar 43 Good Wolf, sometimes the player may also encounter the error when there is a problem with their internet connection. As such, you should ensure that your internet connection is not at fault.
Try to play other online games and check if there is an issue. If you have the option, change to another ISP or switch to a mobile hotspot. Consider playing the game over a wired connection and terminate any tasks running in the background. If the issue is still not resolved, reset the router/modem and restart the system. Try changing the DNS to the Google DNS. That’s all we have in this guide, if you have better solutions we welcome you to comment and help other players.

According to what the commenters have to say in this Reddit post, it appears as if this problem has something to do with certain AMD Ryzen processors. We believe so because most of the people reporting the issue happen to run the game in Ryzen-based hardware. If that’s the case, the issue might also be prevalent in the new generation PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles as well.
At the moment, there’s no fix or workaround that lets you dodge Error code: 3107840166 when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War but we’ll make sure we update this section once there’s an update that patches the error in the future.
Common fixes that should solve your problem

Are you facing any other issues when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War? If yes, let us know in the comments and we’ll try getting you a fix for it.
Split-screen mode issues
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War lets you play in a split-screen mode to play the game locally with others around you. With this mode, you and your friends can take advantage of your local game setup to play multiplayer matches without needing to log in to another console.
Sadly for many, Split-screen has been giving a slew of issues for different players. Firstly, if the option works for some, players are experiencing frequent lag and game crashes when split-screen is enabled. There are also a bunch of instances where players aren’t able to completely see some elements that they should otherwise be seeing in split-screen.
Now THIS is black ops cold war’s split screen. from blackopscoldwar
The game’s developer hasn’t yet rolled out a fix for the problem but we can expect the issues to get resolved in any future update after the current version 1.04 of the game.

Any other PS4 players unable to send invites? from blackopscoldwar
The issue appears to be happening in both current and older generations of Playstation consoles with both PS5 and PS4 players struggling to get past the error code.
While Sony or the game’s developers are yet to acknowledge the issue, some have found a solution that temporarily fixes the problem. Instead of sending invites within the game, you can go to your friend’s profile on the Playstation home screen, and join their session if it says that they’re playing Black Ops Cold War.
Another workaround to play multiplayer matches is to join each others’ joinable parties or matches which you can do by pressing the Triangle key on your controller for sending invites.
